Natasha is a local lampwork glass bead artist whose passion for beaded jewellery began on a working holiday in Canada with a bead loom and tubes of seed beads. Since then the seed beads have been traded in for semi-precious beads, handmade glass lampwork beads and sterling silver.
Natasha’s foray into making lampwork glass beads began in 2007 with a beginner class at Chockadoo glass studio in Sydney. Following a move to Ireland, Natasha undertook classes with Ruzica Ruane (Cadenza Glass, Dun Laoghaire, Ireland). On return to Australia with her family Natasha decided it was more than time to set up her own lampwork glass bead making space.
Natasha is inspired by colours and forms in nature – shells washed up on a shore, fallen seed pods, a sunset. Natasha’s current work at Finite Gallery is her ‘Rockpool Collection’ inspired by sea urchin shells seen in rock pools in Port Elizabeth (South Africa).Read More...
