Ian recently moved to Lake Macquarie from Sydney’s Northern Beaches and loves the area.

He is happily self taught saying “it allows me to paint the way I want without inheriting someone else’s style”

He paints mainly in acrylic and occasionally oils but his work is always colourful with both his abstract and semi abstract work. He is constantly striving for luminance on the canvas and is primarily interested in colour and value relationships and how they work together with his shapes and textures resulting in a feast for the eyes.

His recent work has been approached with a totally abstract vibe, wanting the freedom to realise and reveal more underlying layers of colour and fluidity of shapes without the specific design principles of realism.

He paints from the heart and invites his audience to feel the joy of colour.
